Dominic Wozniak,
MA (Candidate)
Psychotherapist-in-Training
I always knew I wanted to be in a helping profession. I jumped around in my career aspirations, from pursuing veterinary sciences to occupational therapy to medicine to clinical psychology, but I found my best fit in psychotherapy and counselling. Having a deep appreciation for the sciences as well as philosophy, psychotherapy opened up to me as an intriguing middle ground where both fields are strategically applied.
My love for deep and intimate conversation mixed with a knack for seeking practical and incremental improvements complements my psychotherapeutic career and approach. I aim to treat each individual as that, an individual, so I can collaborate as best as possible with my clients by getting to know who and where they are and want to be. I encourage deep personal work as well as simpler behavioural adjustments to achieve goals. What I value most is honesty, which I strive to deliver and expect from my clients as well to ensure productive and constructive improvement. I am a firm believer that change is both inevitable and painful, so we might as well have our say in the process.
