Irene Taylor, MEd
Intern, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
A highly client focused therapist who takes a strengths-based approach to working with each client as a unique individual, I use a full spectrum of modalities and interventions to help each person achieve healing, change and growth. These include Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural, Solutions Focused, Exercise and Nature, Solutions and Goal Focused as well as other current methodologies. My core values are based upon integrative health of body, mind and spirit and seek to address needs in these key facets of life. I endeavour to bring a genuine non-judgemental approach which is based upon the unconditional positive regard for each individual I work with, and strong empathy for their situation. I have been a professional coach and counsellor for over 25 years with a previous graduate degree which focused on the psychology of human achievement.
In my past career, I was the global head of leadership for RBC and a talent specialist with Citibank prior to becoming a founding partner and feature writer for Lexpert, a leading Canadian legal publication. I have worked with both leaders and workers of all backgrounds, including those who have suffered such traumas as motor vehicle accidents.
My overall approach with clients is both wholistic and integrative to meet the unique needs of each individual within their specific cultural context. I seek to help individuals through the processes of healing, change and growth with and through this integrative approach as well as a full range of modalities.
