Intern, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

My Approach

Congratulations! The fact that you are here means you have already started your healing journey, and I would be honoured to join and support you. It has been my great privilege to accompany individuals, couples and families through life’s most challenging and joyous moments while serving as a Priest in the Anglican Church of Canada, a Chaplain in the Canadian Armed Forces and now as an interning Psychotherapist. My experience as a counsellor, teacher, and coach, combined with your expertise in your own life and the situations you face, both currently and in the past, provides significant resources with which to look at how best to improve your holistic health and well-being in alignment with your goals.

Your Therapy Experience

As co-sojourners, working with a therapist with whom you resonate and who is a good fit with your personality and values is critical to effectively and meaningfully move forward with your therapeutic goals. My approach is always client-centred, compassion-focused, and culturally curious, upholding each person’s values. I use an integrative, evidence-based approach, leveraging modalities that best meet your needs on this therapeutic journey. These include Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), as well as Existential Therapy and Spiritually Informed Therapy as each client leads.

More About Me

My most significant area of experience is in Couples and Relationship Counselling; however, I am also passionate about individual and family counselling. My worldview is that there is something sacred in each of us that draws us to wholeness in mind, body, and spirit, which means many different things to each individual or relationship. As well as Couple Communications and Relationship Dynamics, I have experience in Aging Issues, Anger Management, Anxiety, Depression, Grief and Trauma, Religion and Spirituality, Sexuality, Spiritual Trauma, Stress Reduction and Mindfulness, PTSD, and First Responder and Veteran Issues. I have also provided Leadership Coaching and have studied and written about Authentic Leadership.

Take the Next Step

While there are many internal and external resources, therapeutic success is primarily built upon the strength of the alliance we build together as we empower your healing journey. We would strive to collaboratively buttress your strengths to facilitate the meaningful change you seek. Connecting with you and discerning the best path forward would be a welcome privilege.
