Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), MA

My Approach

When you’re looking for a therapist, “fit” is key. Working with someone whose personality and approach resonates with you will make all the difference. Each individual is the expert in their own life, within therapy, I’m here to work collaboratively with you to uncover your existing strengths, process your experiences in a safe space, build resiliency, and overcome personal roadblocks.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a special interest in PTSD treatment, childhood/adult trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, post-relationship recovery, attachment challenges, self-image, mood and anxiety disorders. I am inspired by adults and teen clients who are motivated to build their inner resources, shift long-held life narratives, and develop resilience with a readiness to explore their past. The connection to our own personal narratives is paramount to the foundations in which we build our lives and therefore vital in our healing process. My expertise and specialization begins with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and as well as Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. I am in the process of becoming an EMDRIA registered EMDR Certified Therapist having undergone formal training and am currently completing post training supervision consultation. I have completed certification and training in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Trauma-Informed therapy training,Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Meditation Mindfulness. Additionally, I am a Certified Mindfulness Meditation Teacher with over 200 hours of training and 300 independent hours of teaching.

Your Therapy Experience

I do not believe in a one size fits all approach to therapy and intend to offer a wide range of therapeutic approaches to better support my clients. I draw from a number of therapeutic modalities such as EMDR, DBT, Internal Family Systems, Narrative therapy, and CBT to tailor your therapeutic healing plan to align with your goals. In my eyes, this is a collaborative journey wherein I walk alongside my clients to provide support, guidance, insight and skills teaching in order to meaningfully facilitate your therapeutic healing process. I honor the innate transformative power of courage, inner strength, resiliency, and vulnerability that each individual brings into therapy on their journey of healing. My goal is to cultivate an inclusive environment, foster self-discovery, and nurture clients’ strengths to expand their inner resources.

More About Me

I believe that my lived experiences influence and enrich the conversations and work I do with clients everyday, and certainly vice versa. I come from an Irish-Filipino background, being a first generation born Canadian. Born and raised in Toronto, I originally set out to pursue a career in medicine having briefly attended medical school in Milan, Italy prior to realizing this was not in complete alignment with my core interests. With this background, I am a psychotherapist who is focused on providing strategies and theoretical modalities that are backed by evidence-based literature and are research-driven.
