MY APPROACH
Always adopting a client-centered approach, I make it a priority to create a nonjudgemental space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings. I use a variety of evidence-based modalities and work collaboratively with clients to develop an individualized treatment plan. Approaches such as Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure (PE) Therapy and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy are central to my practice. I have had a specialized focus in working with concurrent disorders, addiction, trauma, youth and emerging adults, forensic psychotherapy, and complex mental health disorders.
YOUR THERAPY EXPERIENCE
Through the use of evidence-based therapies, I work with clients to identify their individual struggles and therapy goals to ensure my therapeutic approach is tailored to meet their needs. Having been in the field for over 20 years, I have developed programs to meet gaps in our community including for youth, addictions, high risk behaviours and trauma. Being a Registered Psychotherapist with CRPO since 2015, I have also served in capacities such as Director of Programs, Program Manager and Clinical Supervisor for new and developing therapists in the field.
MORE ABOUT ME
My passion for community wellness inspired me to enter the helping field, and continues to drive my commitment to improving systems and providing effective mental health services. As a Father and community member, it is important for me to give back to my community and help contribute to health and wellness for all of those around me. I continue to provide therapeutic services while also providing Clinical Supervision and training for Qualifying and new therapists in the field in evidence-based models of treatment. I also serve as the lead of my area’s Suicide Prevention Coalition and a Director for my local police foundational board.
