MY APPROACH

I aim to not just to see you as you are, but see the possibilities of the person you aspire to be. Our unique intersectionalities carry their own strengths, so I use attentive, empathetic, holistic, and culturally responsive approaches when working with people of all backgrounds or any phase of life. Being passionate about wellness and self-growth, I love helping others become better versions of themselves. Let’s find the middle ground between self-acceptance and self-growth, where we can appreciate the version of you that was forged through hardship. Your experiences cultivated unique tools, giving you foresight into your path to self-actualization. You are the driver, but I can be the vehicle, on your road to your therapeutic destination.

YOUR THERAPY EXPERIENCE

Always adopting a client-centered approach, I make it a priority to create a nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings. I use a variety of evidence-based modalities and work collaboratively with clients to develop an individualized treatment plan that can be adjusted as we progress throughout the client’s therapeutic journey. Having experience in culture clash/intergenerational trauma, I use an intersectional, culturally responsive and socially just lens when working with clients, and aim for holistic, sensitive and equitable solutions.

MORE ABOUT ME

As someone who’s struggled with her mental health growing up, I know how important it is to have a reliable, culturally-responsive and empathetic therapist during major life transitions. I was lucky enough to have a counsellor who changed the course of my life, and showed me how to keep going, even when I believed all hope was lost. It is my mission to pay it forward by educating others on early mental wellness interventions and advocating against mental health stigmas in minority communities. Being very passionate about plants and nature, and experiencing their benefits firsthand, I can vouch for the positive impact of horticultural therapy and would love to incorporate this into my therapeutic practice for my clients who are interested.

TAKE THE NEXT STEP

I completely understand how nerve-wrecking it can be to start any relationship, let alone a therapeutic one! From years of therapy and self-reflection myself, I can tell you that, despite how daunting it might seem in the beginning, the pay-off of finding a therapist who clicks with you is incredibly worthwhile. Finding a space where you can be accepted as the rawest version of yourself is liberating, and it is only the start of something greater. Let me emphasize that the first step is usually the hardest part - but we do our best to make things easier for you with a free introductory call. This first step unveils the opportunity for change, and from there … the rest is up to you.
