MY APPROACH

My approach to therapy is collaborative and flexible, focusing on empowering you on your journey toward healing and growth. I view therapy as an activating process rather than a corrective one, helping you navigate life’s challenges without the weight of past pain. Drawing on my background in biology, psychology, and counseling, I use an integrative approach that incorporates modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Existential Psychotherapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I’ve worked with individuals facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, trauma (including sexual trauma), social anxiety, stress management, chronic illness and pain, anger management, workplace harassment, attachment issues, relationship challenges, life transitions, self-esteem issues, self-injury, specific phobias, and existential crises. My focus is on understanding your unique background and perspective to tailor our work, deepen insights, and promote self-awareness and healing. I’m passionate about helping you move through trauma and distress, empowering you to embrace life more fully. Together, we’ll work toward healing and self-discovery, enabling you to connect deeply with the present moment and experience a greater sense of peace and fulfillment.

YOUR THERAPY EXPERIENCE

With over three and a half years of experience as a psychotherapist and eight years in the mental health field, I bring a strong foundation to my work. My journey began as a volunteer with the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region, where I supported survivors of sexual assault through a phone support line. I also volunteered with Kids Help Phone as a crisis text line responder, offering emotional support to youth. These experiences shaped my understanding of diverse client needs and reinforced my commitment to fostering healing and resilience.

MORE ABOUT ME

Outside of therapy, I enjoy yoga, which helps me connect my mind and body, and basketball, which serves as a dynamic outlet for energy and fulfillment. I’ve recently taken up golf as a mindful way to challenge myself and stay present. Improv has also become a creative outlet that inspires self-expression. I prioritize lifelong learning through workshops and conferences, ensuring I stay informed and continue growing as a therapist.
