“But part of getting to know yourself is to unknow yourself – to let go of the limiting stories you’ve told yourself about who you are so that they don’t trap you, so you can live your life and not the story you’ve been telling yourself about your life” – Lori Gottlieb
Welcome! I’m so glad you’re here! Life can throw us curve balls that may seem impossible to navigate or process emotionally. I understand the courage it takes to seek support, and I am here to walk alongside you every step of the way. Regardless of where you are in your journey, I will meet you there and work with you to get to where you want to be.
In our sessions together, I am committed to developing a collaborative, nonjudgmental, and trusting relationship to help you achieve your goals. One of my main goals is to create a supportive environment where you can be your authentic self and feel heard, understood, and accepted. I understand that counselling is not a one-size-fits-all approach; everyone has unique circumstances. As such, I will provide client-centred, individualized care tailored to your needs and desired outcomes.
Together, we will work towards exploring challenges, identifying your patterns of thoughts and behaviours, and replacing any maladaptive coping tendencies with effective strategies to promote positive change.
My journey to becoming a psychotherapist started after I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a postgraduate certificate in Brain Disorders Management. From there, I discovered my passion for helping individuals improve their wellness, self-awareness, and emotional well-being. This passion encourages me towards the final stages of completing a Master’s in Counselling Psychology.
Alysha is a therapist-in-training practicing under the supervision of Daniel Dufraimont.
