Description
McDowall’s DBT Skills Group Program is for individuals 18 years of age or older who are struggling with emotional regulational difficulties and who would like to learn healthier ways of coping.
Based on the DBT Skills Manual by Dr. Lane Pederson

WHEN: Wednesdays Weekly
TIME: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
LOCATION: Virtual Delivery
FEE: 600 CAD
Who can benefit?
- Depression and/or Anxiety
- Bipolar Disorder
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
- Substance Use Disorders
- Personality Disorders (e.g. BPD)
- Suicidal thinking or history of suicide attempts
- Self-harm urges and/or self-injurious behaviours
- Frequent needs for crisis services and/or mental health hospitalizations
- Difficulty functioning at home, school, work, or socially

Goals of DBT:
- To eliminate life-threatening and/or self-harm behaviours
- To reduce quality-of-life-interfering behaviours
- To increase emotional resilience and manage self-destructive urges and behaviours
- To improve the quality of interpersonal relationships
- To improve the patient’s coping behaviour and assist in achieving their goals
