Leela Krishnan, HBSc
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Intern
Mental health is crucial and making the choice to come to therapy is indicative of change and a willingness to get better. My goal as your therapist is to create a safe space for you to do just that. I primarily work through a cognitive-behavioural lens to allow you to confront your thoughts and feelings, recognize your strengths and maximize your potential in order to live a more functional and fulfilling lifestyle. Other modalities I use include ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), Client-Centered Therapy, DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), and Solution Focused Therapy.
I have also had the privilege of growing up in a multicultural space and will utilize a culturally sensitive approach in understanding your story and creating a strong therapeutic alliance. I am currently completing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and looking forward to working with a wide range of individuals who may be experiencing anxiety, anger management, depression, OCD, grief and loss, relational conflicts, self-esteem issues, stress, and trauma.
