Dr. Navodhi Hewage completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at California Southern University with honour ward, Magna Cum Laude and has over 15+ years of experience in developmental and mental health. Dr. Hewage is working towards completing externship hours under Dr. McDowall and seeking eligibility for registration with the College of Psychologists in Ontario.  Dr. Hewage’s training and experience in clinical psychology include providing enhanced service navigation for families with complex needs, assisting in conducting multidisciplinary assessments, conducting behavioural assessments, designing positive behaviour support plans, and giving staff coaching and treatment recommendations for youth involved in Youth Justice at Syl Apps Secure Treatment Program. 

She specializes in working across the lifespan, focusing on children, young adults, transition-aged youth, and their parents. Dr. Hewage provides consultations for a range of developmental concerns such as autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities and mental health concerns related to mood disorders, anxiety-related disorders, and emotional regulation challenges. Dr. Hewage believes in tailoring treatment to the unique needs of each individual and employing an integrative approach from multiple treatment modalities such as play therapy, applied behaviour analysis, cognitive behaviour therapy, and didactical behaviour therapy.   She is passionate about helping families and young people improve their mental well-being and quality of life. 

Dr. Hewage is also a mother of three teenagers with experiences navigating the mental health systems and advocacy as a parent.
