Xiaolan is a registered psychotherapist in the Province of Ontario (CRPO). She is an active professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and a professional affiliate member of the Ontario Psychological Association (OPA). 

Xiaolan has a Master’s degree in Adult Education and Counselling Psychology from OISE, University of Toronto, and a Master’s in Social Psychology from Guangzhou University, China. She has a Bachelor of Psychology from East China Normal University, Shanghai, China.

Xiaolan’s clinical approach is integrated with cognitive behaviour therapy and solution-focused brief therapy, for which she was trained in certification programs at U of T. She also graduated from the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program at Women’s College Hospital. Xiaolan has 13 years of practical experience helping clients learn psychological knowledge, practical skills, and tools to address their concerns and improve their quality of life. 

Xiaolan takes a collaborative stance and seeks to empower clients by moving beyond “problem talk” to “solution talk.” She works with her clients to envision a more satisfying and hopeful future, recognize their strengths and resources, and use them to generate realistic solutions as much as possible. 

Xiaolan is fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Shanghainese.
